Ahh, gay Paris, the city of Love.  After doing lots of extensive research on this most famous and beautiful city I’ve come to one conclusion, 3 days are not enough!  But I guess I will have to make do.  My thoughts on Paris have always for some reason been connected to Pepé Le Pew as funny as it sounds.  I also have visions in my head of the Eiffel Tower, great cheese, wine, champagne, Hennessey, and baguettes.  Oh yeah, and I have to get one of those croissants.  As far as things I want to do while i’m there besides partying it up with the Parisans:

From Prague, my plans are to skip through Germany hitting the cities of Nuremberg and Frankfurt.  I figure how can I be so close to Germany and not at least explore?  Unfortunately the first thing that comes to mind when I think about Germany are swastika symbols, nazi’s and Hitler.   Perhaps a visit there could change my perception.  Germany also brings to mind really good beer and that definitely attracts me :).  I’ve also heard on several different occassions from different people that the nightlife in Frankfurt is bananas.  I guess i’ll find that out too.  As far as historical sites go there aren’t really any major sites I can think of that really jump out at me so I guess I will kinda park at the hostel, hit the streets with my camera and wing it.  One of the hostels that I’ve been looking at is in Frankfurt’s Red Light District which should be an adventure all it’s own.  After conquering Germany I’ll be on my way to Paris, the city of love…

After Amsterdam I will be making use of my eurail pass and traveling to Prague.  All I really know about Prague is that it’s known as the city of 100 spires, or is it 1000 I can’t really remember.  Someone was telling me that it is a must see for it’s beauty as it was the only city that remained untouched during World War II so there is much history here to see.  I did a myspace search for people to chat with in Prague and was pleasantly surprised to find out one thing.  PRAGUE HAS LOTS OF BEAUTIFUL WOMEN.  LOL.  Not to say that this is my primary motivation to visit this city but it certainly helps.  I mean, cmon, what kind of red blooded American man would I be if i didn’t appreciate a city with an abundance of beautiful women.  I guess we will see how well I’m appreciated here as well, hehehe.  I plan on staying in Prague for at least a night, maybe 2 nights.  During the day I’ll try to hit these prime locations:

And as for the nightlife I heard that Prague was definitely not lacking in that area.  Maybe I’ll be able to find a good hip-hop club and be mistaken for a famous rapper or something. LOL.  As for living arrangements it will be hostel living once again so no doubt I’ll probably have some party buddies as well.  After Prague it will be off to Germany…

After my stay in the UK I have 2 options to get to Amsterdam.  I have found out that I can get a flight on one of the cheap airlines like Jet2 for about $35 or I can opt for the more scenic route by train to the Harwich ferry terminal and then catch the ferry to to Hoek van Holland and the train from there to Amsterdam for about $100.  I’m still on the fence about as although I’d like to save money I’d also enjoy scenery and comfort of having an overnight private cabin with a shower and a window view on a boat.  With the ferry option they even provide breakfast.  But we’ll see.

Whilst in Amsterdam the main thing on my mind is, you guessed it, the RED LIGHT DISTRICT.  This is a must for me to check out for obvious reasons.  I’ve heard that you aren’t allowed to take pictures there but I’m going to try.  Aside from the red light district the other things I might be interested in are:

I plan on staying in Amsterdam for only 2 days since it is such a small city.  More than likely I’m staying at a hostel but I haven’t yet decided which one.  From there I’ll be off to Prague, Czechlovakia…

My adventure begins on June 2nd in Vancouver, BC Canada.  From there I’ll be flying British Airways and arriving in London on June 3rd.  For 3 days I plan to stay at one of the hostels and check out all the sites and museums during the day and the nightlife at night.  Staying at a hostel has it’s advantages since I’ll be able to interact with other travelers and possibly make some friends to tour the city with or share beers at the local pubs. Some of the things that I want to see are:

I’m hoping I’ll be able to see all these things in 3 days.  As far as food goes, I think i can survive on the famous London fish and chips the whole time with maybe a restaurant here and there.  After my stay in London I’m going to head up to Leeds to visit a friend of mine for the weekend and from there I’m off to Amsterdam, phase 2….
