Hi. I've been to London, England 4 times and plan to return again in May, maybe.

I did not use a guide book. But I will tell you to AVOID using the taxi as much as you can. For the 3 times I've been, I've always taken their subway or bus to my destination from the airport (Heathrow). I downloaded the Underground map (PDF) to my laptop to get a feel of how to get around.

When you get a chance, ask about the Oyster Card or some type of weekly travel pass, which you can use for both the Tube and Bus.

Most the happening night clubs are in Central London (Central or Piccadilly line). But beware, they get PACKED on weekends and you will get turned away if it's full! I think the next time I decide to go to a "rave" in LDN, I may have to see about getting on the guest list early.

I'll be more than happy to give you any info you may need.
